Blessing Bags Initiative
With the holiday season all around us, and colder weather quickly approaching, the Spark Change Ambassadors wanted to inspire their communities to put together BLESSING BAGS for those in need.
Initiative Details
During the month of December, our Ambassadors collected donated supplies and funds to provide essentials for those who have fallen on hard times.
"The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) most recent report found that 580,466 people experienced homelessness in the United States on a single night in 2020, an increase of 12,751 people, or 2.2 percent, from 2019."
"Everybody needs help sometimes... and 7 out of 10 Americans are one paycheck away from homelessness."

Each of our Ambassadors reached out to their local shelters to learn what specific needs could be filled to make the most impact, and together we compiled the following list...

We also wanted to include an inspiring message in each bag, as a gentle reminder that even when you have fallen on hard times, you are still worthy...

Community
The support of our communities was crucial for the success of this initiative and some of our Ambassadors held Holiday Stuffing Parties. Katy Moody Cusick's family brought together three generations of loving and inspiring women for a girl's day dedicated to this important cause. All of our communities donated supplies, funds, and support, and we are so incredibly thankful for each one of them.
Impact
These phenomenal servant leaders put together over 68 BLESSING BAGS and donated almost 700 items to local shelters and support organizations.
Additionally, one our Ambassadors, Savannah Holman felt uniquely called to embrace this month's initiative and fulfill a specific need within her community. A beautiful family recently lost their home to a tragic fire, and Savannah inspired and gathered her community to come together to offer their support. Together they gifted a big and beautiful bag OVER FLOWING with tons of love and blessings.
We continue to be inspired by these amazing leaders, and hope you will continue to support us as we combine our individual sparks to illuminate the world.
